Department of Nutrition And Dietetics
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics focuses on the study of food, nutrition, and their impact on human health. It offers a comprehensive curriculum encompassing various aspects of nutrition science, dietetics, food safety, and the role of nutrition in promoting health and preventing disease. Students will engage in courses such as Nutrition Science, Clinical Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Food Science, Food Microbiology, Fundamentals of Biochemistry, Human Physiology, Nutrition Through the Life Cycle, Principles of Diet Therapy, and Geriatric Nutrition.
To complement the theoretical knowledge, the curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience through practical training. This includes internships at hospitals, community nutrition camps, food service establishments, and various visits such as Kitchen Visits, Industry Visits, Academic Visits, and Field Visits.
Graduates from the department have diverse career opportunities, often pursuing roles as registered dietitians, nutritionists, food service managers, public health nutritionists, or consultants in healthcare and food-related industries.
