Department of Malayalam

The Malayalam department also started functioning from the beginning of the college. The Malayalam Department offers a second language which complements the main programmes. Malayalam as a Second Language is available for BA/ BSc programs in four semesters and for B.Com in two semesters. The literary study encourages creative tastes and upholds human values. The department currently has one teacher.

Malayalam for Competitive Exams

This Add-on Certificate programme is meant to help students with the basic idea of Malayalam for Competitive Exams. The programme’s objective is to introduce learners to Malayalam literature, Literary works, and Language proficiency. This course helps participants to improve their Vocabulary and Grammar Mastery.

Capacity Building/ Skill Enhancement Initiatives

Thanimalayalam is a club established under the leadership of the Department of Malayalam to nurture the creative talents of the students. The department monthly organizes ‘Ente vayana-Vidhyarthikal nadathunna pusthakavalokanam’ and ‘Ente vayana’ -Adhyapakarude vayananubhavangaliloode’ specially meant to enhance the reading habit of students and teachers respectively. Various workshops and activities are conducted. The club also produces manuscripts and publishes student creations. Events like Mother Tongue Day, Basheer commemoration and Keralappiravi, Environment day, and O N V Anusmaranam are celebrated appropriately. Under the leadership of Thanimalayalam club conducted field trips. Thani Malayalam Club Organized a magazine workshop in association with the magazine committee.
