UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH CELL

The Undergraduate Research Cell (URC) at ACAS identifies and promotes the undergraduate students to foster their nascent spirit of enquiry and curiosity. The faculty members and class tutors are directed to spot such inquisitiveness early on and mentor them. These students are later exposed to opportunities to further their budding capabilities through presentation opportunities and mini projects. They are also communicated about events which they must attend and articles they can go through. Books and resorces to scaffold them are made available in the institution’s library so that they have intelleftual tools and ideas to dig further. One-on-one sessions with the Visiting Professors who can support them are arranged in the later stages so that the aspiring undergrads are given opportunity to know their domains of interest better and to see how they can take the same forward.

URC at ACAS will take efforts to lead undergrads with genuine talent for exploration so that their career paths could be better delineated early on. The learning experinces of these undergrads would differ from the standard cohort in many ways.

The bespoke student-focussed and student-driven ecosystem we have at ACAS has slots which are designed to fit such undergrads in. Invited Student Talk Series, Al Shifa International Student Seminar (ALISS), Student Project Quality Cell, Visiting Faculty Scheme, all these afford opportunities for the Undergraduates with research inclination to involve, contribute and grow. The research tangent of an undergraduate is advised and lead to result in making an original contribution of intellectual or creative kind.

ACAS Undergraduate Research Cell networks across all the core departments with faculty trained to spot, report and refer the undergrads who need and deserve the cell’s support.
