The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics participated in a two-day National Seminar on Dysphagia and Nutrition held on 15th and 16th August 2026 at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. A group of 41 first-semester students accompanied by 2 faculty members attended the seminar as part of their academic exposure and professional development.

The seminar, centred on the theme “Dysphagia and Nutrition: Current Landscape, Unmet Needs and Future Directions,” provided the students with an opportunity to experience a professional scientific conference at the very beginning of their academic journey.

The scientific programme included sessions on dysphagia and nutrition, oncology nutrition, enteral and parenteral nutrition, geriatric nutrition, neurodegenerative disorders, pediatric nutrition, pediatric ICU nutrition, the first 1000 days of life, and the gut-brain axis. The students also witnessed case presentations, panel discussions, oral presentations, and post
