The Student Project Quality Cell is constituted to ensure quality of student Projects. It supports and advises on not only the Projects which are a mandatory component of their programme of study, but also the Minor projects the students can take up individually and collectively. As far as the Project which is part of the Curriculum, the SPQC oversees the process through a clear timeline and quality standards.

The Student Project Quality Cell (SPQC) is constituted for coordinating the Project preparation and presentation activities of the Undergraduate students of the Al Shifa College of Arts and Science in the year 2021.  It will oversee the UG Project work of the students systematically from the early stage of finding the topic to the final one of submission of the projects. This is part of the institutional effort to improve the quality of the UG and PG projects. These measures also make sure that the projects are submitted on time and that the students are aware of the seriousness of their efforts.

To encourage young talent and accord recognition of our students, the SPQC has also instituted the Top Project Awards’ in Academic year 2022-23 for the best projects undertaken by the U. G Students. The award is sponsored by PTA. Selection of the best project will be based on internal and external valuation. The selected projects are reworked in the form of essays or articles and it will be published in a book with ISBN Number the following academic year.

The student projects will be checked for plagiarism. If a project contains plagiarised material above the prescribed level (40%), the students are to be asked to redraft and resubmit the project report. To help them work early and to be alert, each chapter could be plagiarism-checked once they submit the same online. References and citations are to be properly documented in all project reports.

The following time line is prepared for the UG projects which are to be submitted during 2022-23. To familiarise the students with the processes and procedures, the
project work starts in the third semester of the UG Programmes with the Dept and the Project supervisors walking them through the various stages involved. The Dept heads and the Research Supervisors are to ensure that the schedule is implemented.
