As a part of day observance, Department of English, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, observed the World Refugee Day on 8 June 2022 at 1pm in the Lecture Hall 4. An enactment on the poem “Refugee Blues” written by W.H Auden was organized. The programme was organized for the enhancement of various skills including language, pronunciation, planning and organization and leadership qualities. And it was also aimed to improve their ability to face the larger audience The performance was organized on the poem which is a part of their curriculum. Plight of refugees, Anti-Semitism and complicity in prejudice, exile and loneliness and social injustice were the highlighted issues conveyed through the enactment. The programme was coordinated by Muhammad Adil K, student V Semester B.A. Functional English. The event started with welcome note by Mohamed Shalikh, student V B.A. Functional English and performed by Students from V Semester B.A Functional English. Ms. Saritha K, Head, Department of English, Midhulaj P, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Class Tutor and Renjitha K.R, Assistant Professor of English were present for the program. Vote of thanks was proposed by Rinshi Nasri, Student Co-Ordinator, English Association and the programme ended at 1.30 pm.
