The Department of English held an enactment of the play, “The Room”, by Harold Pinter on 15 March 2021 at the College Seminar Hall at 10.45 am, in connection with the World Theatre Day. Muhammed Shalikh, Dheena K, Farhana P K, Haniya K, Sana Zain and Muhammed Sulthan of I BA Functional English, played the roles of Bert, Rose, Mrs. & Mr. Sands, Mr.Kidd and Riley respectively. After the stage performance, Basila Sherin briefed the summary of the play, Rinshi Nasri analyzed the play as a Comedy of Menace and Muhammed Jamsheer explained the settings of the play. Ms. Saritha. K, Head of English discussed the various types of theatres during the post-war era and students were able to identify the difference between the theatre of the time and past which they had already studied in their syllabus. The programme was concluded at 12.40.
