Report of the Filed trip and Nature Camp at Thusharagiri

Nature Club Members of Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, participated in a one-day field trip and Nature Camp at Thusharagiri, organised by Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department on 20 February 2022. Forty students and three faculty members attended the programme. Mr Suresh, Section Forest Officer, Social Forestry Extension Division, Kozhikode, lead the camp. The programme aimed to bring awareness about the forest and wildlife in Kerala. And the importance of protecting nature, the present situation of forest and wildlife are alarming. The students understand this and they realize the birds and animals are struggling with the loss of their habitat. The members visited the Eerattumukku, Mazhavil Chattam and Thumpithullum para waterfall. Mr Banny, Former ward Member, Thusharagiri delivered the knowledge about the Thusharagiri area. Studets and Faculty members participated in the trekking to the forest with enthusiasm. And also visited CIAL’s hydropower project at Arippara Waterfalls, Kozhikode. Mr Irshad. K, Nature Club Coordinator & Assistant Professor of Arabic, Mr Rohith, Head & Assistant Professor of Commerce, Mrs Febeena. K, Assistant Professor of Malayalam have been involved in the camp. Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department issued a certificate for the participants. Nature Club members and faculties have actively involved in the programme.
