Al Shifa College of Arts and Science & Malappuram Chamber of Commerce jointly organized Malappuram Talk 2k22, an elocution competition for college students on the ‘Development Possibilities of Malappuram District’. Eighteen students from various colleges participated in the competition which was held on 5 March at Al Shifa College. The tourism potential of the district, the shortcomings in the field of education, sports, transportation, and pollution were the notable points that came up in the talk. The speakers opined that personality development, social development, and national development are complementary and the development of the district requires the long-term vision and activities of those in the political and social spheres. Shifa Medicare Trust Managing Trustee Dr. P Unneen inaugurated the function, Mr. KV Anwar, President, Malappuram Chamber of commerce presided over the function. Dr. Babu. P. K, Principal, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, welcomed the gathering Mr. K.P Riyas Babu, Secretary, Malappuram Chamber of commerce, Adv. P. A. Sageer, ‘Malappuram Talk’ Organizing Committee Convener spoke in the inaugural session. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Irshad. K, Coordinator, Innovation Cell and Assistant Professor of Arabic, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science.
Mr. Junaid from Maulana Abdul Bari Academy and Fatima Safa. V from Al Shifa College of Arts and Science shared first place in the Malayalam category. Munawwarli from Najath College and Shwetha from Al Shifa College of Paramedical Science shared second place. Abdul Rashid of MES Arts and Science College, Perinthalmanna, won third place. In the English category, Shamna Sherin of Al Shifa College of Paramedical Sciences won first place and Arshida of Al Shifa College of Arts and Science won second place. Fatima Huda of Al Shifa College of Arts & Science and Amrutha of Al Shifa College of Pharmacy shared third place. The winners were recognized with certificates and cash awards.
