Department of English, in connection with Safe Internet Day organized an intercollegiate competition, a mock TV News presentation, ‘Breaking News: Safe Surfing’.Students of BA Functional English programme from various colleges were the target group.It was designed as an individual event allowing any number of participants from one college.
Contestants had to record a TV News Reading on “Safe Surfing” not exceeding 3 minutes. Medium of presentation had to be English and participants were free to make use of technology to present the news. It was also instructed that the contestants had to dominate 60% of the speaking time in the video recorded. The last day to receive the entries was 10 February 2021, the Safe Internet Day. Govt Brennan College, Dharmadam and Ms. Sana Zain of First BA Functional English, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, Kizhattoor, Perinthalmanna were adjudged as the first, second and third prize winners. The winners were recognised by rewarding them with E-Certificate.
