The NSS Unit of Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, in association with the Kerala Forest Department, organised a Nature Camp at Wayanad from 31 August to 2 September 2026. The camp aimed at creating awareness among students about the importance of forests, biodiversity, environmental conservation, and responsible interaction with nature.

The three-day camp included a variety of educational and experiential activities. Nature awareness sessions provided the participants with valuable insights into forest ecosystems, biodiversity, wildlife conservation, and environmental protection. The volunteers also actively participated in reforestation activities, promoting the importance of restoring and protecting natural habitats.

The camp also featured personality development programmes, which helped the students improve their communication, teamwork, leadership qualities, confidence, and interpersonal skills. The participants had the opportunity to engage in trekking and forest visits, allowing them to closely observe the natural environment and understand the importance of conserving forest resources.

The camp was coordinated by Mr. Mubarak Ahammed, Fifth Semester B.Com Finance. Mr. Irshad. K, Assistant Professor of Arabic and NSS Programme Officer, and Ms. Rishna. E, Assistant Professor of Psychology, accompanied and guided the students throughout the camp.

The Nature Camp provided the NSS volunteers with a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom. It strengthened their environmental awareness, teamwork, leadership skills, and sense of responsibility towards nature and society. The programme successfully combined environmental education, adventure, personal development, and community-oriented learning.
