The Faculty Development Centre of Al Shifa College of Arts & Science organized the first session of the “FDP Series on Classroom Management Technique: 1 – Proxemics” in the Seminar Hall on 29 July 2026 at 2.00 p.m. The session was led by Dr Kamaludheen K. T., Principal of ACAS. The programme focused on the concept of proxemics and its role in effective classroom management. Dr. Kamaludheen explained how the strategic use of physical space, movement, and teacher-student positioning can enhance communication, improve student engagement, and create a positive learning environment. Through practical examples, he demonstrated how non-verbal communication helps maintain discipline and foster meaningful classroom interactions. The session encouraged faculty members to reflect on their teaching practices and adopt innovative classroom management strategies. Participants actively engaged in discussions and appreciated the practical insights shared by the resource person. The programme concluded successfully, equipping the faculty with valuable techniques to make classroom teaching more effective and learner-centred.
