Entrepreneurship Development Club

About

The Entrepreneurship Development Club, Al Shifa College of Arts & Science started with the objective to develop entrepreneurial skills among the students. The club aims to create an environment that encourages and supports the development of entrepreneurial mindsets and attitudes among its members. The membership is open to all students of ACAS.

The ED club implemented various programs during the last academic year, which includes programmes for fostering the culture of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial skill development, networking & collaboration among aspiring entrepreneurs, students, professionals, and industry experts, workshops and seminars, entrepreneurial competitions programmes etc.

Aims and Objectives

To inculcate social virtues such as trustworthiness, integrity, hard work, discipline, honesty etc. as constituents of entrepreneurship.
To bring in successful entrepreneurs and students on a common platform.
To inculcate entrepreneurial culture in students.
To change the mindset on the negative attitude prevailing among the students for taking entrepreneurship as a career.
To educate students about the various dimensions of the industry.
To nurture the latent entrepreneurial talents in students.
To inculcate both the technical skill and managerial skills in budding entrepreneurs

1	Industry Visit to Alucraft Manufacturing and Marketing LLP	Conducted on 8 August 2025 at Kizhattur, this visit provided exposure to aluminium manufacturing processes and industrial operations. Students gained practical insights into production management and real-world applications. It also helped them understand the workplace environment and career opportunities in the sector.
2	Spark to Success: Entrepreneurial Insights	Held on 26 August 2025 at the Seminar Hall, this entrepreneurial talk by Mr. Omer Sha Shoukath P.V. focused on the startup journey, challenges, and practical business insights. The session inspired students to pursue innovative ideas and enhanced their understanding of entrepreneurship.
3	Decoding Entrepreneurship: An Open Interaction	Held on 23 September 2025, this session by Mr. Ambras K. T. focused on entrepreneurial mindset, challenges, and modern business tools. The interactive session motivated students to explore innovative ideas and develop clarity on startup execution.
4	Participation in El Fiesta: Intercollegiate Food Fest	Organised on 6 October 2025, students participated in competitions at MES College, showcasing creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The event enhanced confidence, teamwork, and communication skills through intercollegiate exposure.
5	LED Bulb Making Workshop – “Lighting the Future”	Conducted on 15 October 2025, this hands-on workshop enabled students to learn LED bulb assembly. It enhanced technical knowledge and encouraged interest in small-scale entrepreneurial ventures.
6	Vision to Venture: The Story of a Trading Entrepreneur	Held on 21 October 2025, this session featured Mr. Fahiz, founder of Portfyo Stock Traders, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and practical insights into trading. The session covered technical analysis, chart patterns, and risk management strategies. It motivated students to explore opportunities in trading and entrepreneurship while providing real-world exposure beyond academic learning.
7	Field Visit to Quickerala Machinery and Trade Expo – Season 06	Organised on 08 November 2025 at Calicut, the visit exposed students to modern machinery and industrial innovations. It helped them understand emerging technologies and explore new business opportunities.
8	Idea Expo	Held on 16 December 2025, this exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase and market innovative ideas. It offered practical experience in selling, networking, and entrepreneurial decision-making.
9	Stubiz: The Food Spot	Conducted on 16 December 2025, this student-run food stall provided hands-on experience in sales, customer service, and budgeting. The initiative generated profit and strengthened teamwork and business skills.
10	Food Fest – “Kidilan Dhaaba”	Organised on 22 December 2025, the event featured themed stalls and provided a real-time business experience. It promoted teamwork, creativity, and understanding of pricing and customer preferences.
11	Eco Craft: Turning paper waste into profit	Conducted a session titled “Eco Craft: Turning Paper Waste into Profit” on 6th February 2026. The session was handled by Mr. Ashok Rao, who demonstrated creative ways to reuse waste paper and highlighted its entrepreneurial potential. The programme was interactive and informative, encouraging sustainability and skill development among students.
12	The Business Behind the Brand: A Journey of Leadership, Learning and Legacy	Held on 09 February 2026, this session focused on leadership, entrepreneurial challenges, and practical business insights. It inspired students to develop confidence and long-term career vision.
13	From waste to wonder: Turning waste paper into useful creations	Organised a workshop titled “From Waste to Wonder – Turning Used Papers into Useful Creations” on 02 March. The session was led by Ms. Nishana A, who demonstrated techniques to transform waste paper into useful craft items. Students actively participated in hands-on activities, creating eco-friendly products like paper bags and pen holders.
14	From market to mindset: A trader’s journey	Conducted on 3 March 2026, this workshop was led by Mr. Muhammed Shuhaib P. from Stockex Academy. It focused on portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk diversification strategies. Through real-time examples and discussions, students gained practical knowledge on managing investments and building long-term wealth, making the session highly beneficial and application-oriented.
15	One Day Skill Enhancement Workshop	Conducted on 04 March 2026, this workshop covered entrepreneurship, AI tools, communication, and personal growth. Interactive sessions made it engaging and helped enhance students’ overall skills.
