The consumer club is established specially for creating awareness among the students regarding the consumer’s rights and privileges. It aims to build a base of enlightened citizen customers as the foundation of future India.
To educate students about their fundamental rights as consumers and to make them aware of and, learn about their essential responsibilities as citizens. To provide our college students with consumer rights information and skills. To make them aware of consumer protection laws, product standards, product quality, and market information.
To spread awareness on consumer rights amongst all consumer segments, especially among
college students. To reach the unreached by imparting knowledge and training on consumer
awareness to our students and enable them to teach the village personnel.

| Seed Pen Making Workshop( Extension Activity) | A Seed Pen Making Workshop was organized on 8th October 2025 at Poonthanam Smaraka AUP School, Kizhattur, by the Consumer Club in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Management Studies. The program aimed to promote eco-friendly practices and reduce plastic use.Around 35 students actively participated in the hands-on session. Resource persons demonstrated how to make seed pens using waste paper and seeds. The workshop enhanced students’ creativity and environmental awareness. It successfully spread the message of “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.” |

A Seed Pen Making Workshop titled “Pen it Down for a Greener Tomorrow!” was organized on 26th December 2025 by the Consumer Club for NSS volunteers of Duxford College for Advanced Studies. The session was led by student representatives Nimisha and Fathima Asmah. Participants learned to make eco-friendly seed pens using sustainable materials. The programme promoted environmental awareness and encouraged the adoption of greener practices. |
| Paper bag making work shop | The Consumer Club of Al-Shifa College of Arts and Science organized a Paper Bag Making Workshop on 13 March 2026. The session was led by Ms. Nimisha K, where students learned to create eco-friendly paper bags. Around 35 paper bags were prepared and distributed to a retail shop as part of an awareness initiative. The program promoted sustainable practices and encouraged reducing plastic usage. |
| Paper Bag Distribution programme ( Extension Activity) | A Paper Bag Distribution Programme was organized on 23rd March 2026 by the Consumer Club at Akaparamba retail shops. Around 40 paper bags were distributed to 7 shops with the support of NSS volunteers. The initiative received positive appreciation from shop owners for promoting eco-friendly alternatives. The programme aimed to reduce plastic usage and encourage sustainable practices. |
| Global Trade: Challenges and Opportunities | The Consumer Club of Al Shifa College organized a session on “Global Trade: Challenges and Opportunities” on 26th June 2025 at Lecture Hall 08. The session was led by Mr. Irshad Ameen K, Assistant Professor, DCMS. He discussed key challenges, opportunities, and emerging trends in global trade. The session was interactive and helped participants understand global trade and its future prospects. |
| From Waste to Wonder – Turning Used Papers into Useful Creations | The Consumer Club of Al Shifa College organized the workshop “From Waste to Wonder – Turning Used Papers into Useful Creations” on 02 March to promote eco-friendly practices among students. The session, led by Ms. Nishana A, included demonstrations and hands-on activities using waste newspapers to create useful items. Students actively participated in group-based crafting, developing creativity and teamwork skills. The programme successfully raised awareness about sustainable waste management and encouraged responsible environmental behaviour. |
