The Civil Services Centre of the College helps identify and support the students who aspire to join the Indian Civil Service. As the elite examination is highly competitive, it needs to be approached with good preparation and planning. From the initial orientation to the time of Examination, they are hand held and mentored. Civil servants are invited to meet and interact with them so that they will get a feel of career and lend them confidence.
The Civil Service Coaching Centre at Al Shifa College of Arts and Science (CSCC-ACAS) is set up with the aim of tuning and moulding the students to confront Civil Service Examination. The Centre provides ambience and adequate facilities for aspirants to accomplish and shine in the civil service examination. The Objective of the Centre is to facilitate adequate platforms for early interventions in the form of academic support and make available enriched resources for clearing the different levels of examinations conducted by UPSC. It has also envisaged creating awareness and providing guidance and academic support to ambitious students. Centre offers a fledged academic and material support with timely deliverance of the content.

The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Kamaludheen K.T., in the presence of Vice Principal Ms. Saritha. Coordinated by Mr. Ragi K. Haridas, the session featured Adv. Mohammed Roshin, COO of Hyderali Shihab Thangal Academy for Civil Services, Perinthalmanna, as the resource person. He delivered an inspiring talk on preparation strategies, opportunities, and challenges in Civil Service examinations, stressing early planning, consistency, and goal-oriented study. Students actively participated, concluding with an engaging Q&A.
As part of Zenora – Mental Health Week Celebrations 2025, the Civil Service Coaching Centre, in collaboration with the PG Department of Psychology, organized a session on “Civil Service Exam Preparation: A Psychological Perspective” on 8 October 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Seminar Hall. Ms. Reem Bhasheer, Consultant Psychologist, led the session, highlighting stress management, motivation, time management, emotional regulation, and growth mindset as essential strategies for aspirants. She emphasized overcoming mental barriers through scientific techniques. Faculty, students, and civil service aspirants participated enthusiastically. The program concluded with an interactive Q&A, making the session engaging and impactful.

He explained strategies to link news with the syllabus for Prelims, Mains, and Interviews, while guiding students on reliable sources, note‑making, and smart revision. The highly interactive session engaged participants in discussions on national and international developments, clarifying doubts and strengthening preparation.
The Civil Service Coaching Centre of Al Shifa College of Arts & Science launched a continuous weekly activity titled “Friday Focus: News to Knowledge – Editorial Insight & Discussion Forum” to enhance current affairs awareness and analytical skills among civil service aspirants. Conducted every Friday, the program encourages newspaper reading, especially The Hindu, with focus on polity, economy, international relations, environment, and science & technology. Students engage in discussions, presentations, quizzes, and note‑making, connecting news with the Civil Services Examination syllabus. The interactive sessions foster comprehension, communication, and critical thinking, creating an intellectually stimulating environment that strengthens aspirants’ confidence and preparation.
The Civil Service Coaching Centre of Al Shifa College of Arts and Science organized an informative session titled “The Hindu: Strategy for Civil Services” on 5 November 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Computer Lab. Ragi K Haridas, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, led the session, offering a comprehensive understanding of how The Hindu newspaper can be effectively used for civil service preparation. He guided students on identifying relevant sections such as editorials, national and international news, economy, and science & technology, while emphasizing analytical reading, note‑making, and linking current affairs with the UPSC syllabus.
