As a part of day observations, the Department of English, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, Keezhattur, observed National Science Day on 1st of March, 2021 at 12.30 pm for First BA Functional English students at Lecture Hall 1. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Sabina, Assistant Professor, Department of English, followed by a show of the Science fiction movie, Frankenstein, which depicts the tale of a Monster created by assembling body parts of the deceased and instilling life into it with the help of electricity by a young science scholar named Victor Frankenstein. Frankenstein is the movie adaptation of the celebrated science fiction Frankenstein, by the Romantic writer, Mary Shelley. This was followed by a discussion on the emergence and the features of science fiction by the students of First BA Functional English. The programme ended at1.30 pm.
