One-day Magazine Making Workshop was organized by the Magazine Committee and Library
Council at Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, for college students of Kerala on 11 August 2022, at
Seminar Hall. The workshop was organized in the categories of story writing and layout making.
Along with this, an exhibition of award-winning magazines was also held on the same day. The
Workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Rajesh Monji (Assistant Professor of Malayalam
Department, MES Mampad College). Followed by a storytelling workshop held in the seminar hall
under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh Monji. Ms. Febina K (faculty of Malayalam department and
magazine staff editor) welcomed the gathering. Dr. Babu. P. K, Principal of Al-Shifa College of Arts
and Science delivered presidential address. Around forty-eight students from various colleges
participated in the Workshop. Dr. Monji described to the students how to prepare a story as well as
how to present the ideas within the story. Students were divided into groups and given the opportunity
to tell stories about what they had seen or experienced.The session restarted with a layout workshop,
organized under the leadership of Mr. Abdullah Kutty Edavanna and Adv. Biju John (editor of Little
Masika) in the afternoon. Mr. Irshad. K (Asst. Prof. of Arabic and Magazine Staff Editor) welcomed
Mr. Abdullah Kutty Edavanna and Adv. Biju John. They described the ideas to the students about
how to prepare a magazine and also spoke on the importance of color combination, font size, the order
in which the works should be arranged, and how the images should be given inside the pages while
preparing the magazine.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohammad Sahal. K (Magazine Student Editor) 2nd
year BCom Taxation, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science.
