RCC aims to uplift slow learners and to capacitate them for examinations. Students who enter the Higher Education streams with weak academic foundation are provided the required scaffolding in various ways. Generally the effort is to make them believe in themselves and to lend them confidence to approach their specialisations positively. Subjects specific foundation sessions, study skills training etc. too are part of their course work.
Students for the scheme is selected on the basis of analysis of their higher secondary results. These students are provided with personalised additional attention through remedial classes, additional lectures, question banks, study materials and interactive classes. Expert faculties for providing such support is sought both from within and outside the institution. Before and after college time, sessions are held so that their regular classes are not affected.
The Remedial Coaching Centre, in collaboration with the FYUGP Cell, organised Exam Orientation Sessions for the First Year FYUGP 2025 Batch on 3rd and 4th November 2025. The sessions aimed to provide students with a clear understanding of the structure and pattern of the university examinations.
Day 1 was exclusively for B.Com, BBA, and B.A. English students, while Day 2 was conducted for B.Sc. and BCA students. The orientation was divided into three sessions.
The Remedial Coaching Centre (RCC), ACAS, organised a series of remedial sessions for students in need prior to the university examinations. The RCC collected academic support data from various departments, which included the learning difficulties identified among students and the proposed remedial measures. All departments actively organised these sessions, which contributed to improving the overall results.
The Remedial Coaching Centre in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, organized a session titled “Mastering the Final Year: Tools, Tips and Mindset” on 23rd July 2025.
The session was led by Ms. Athira, Special Educator at Pristine Private School, UAE. She spoke on the importance of developing career-related skills and shared insights on various “career superpowers.” The speaker also provided practical tips and strategies to effectively face university examinations.
The Remedial Coaching Centre in association with the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organized a workshop titled “Unlock Your Mind’s Potential: Memory Mastery & Mind Mapping Workshop” on 19th August 2025. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Juzailath (B.Sc. Psychology, Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies, Ezhakad, Mundur), who delivered an interactive and insightful session on various memory techniques and mind mapping strategies. The workshop aimed at equipping students with practical tools to enhance their memory power, improve focus, and organize their thoughts effectively using mind maps.
