Report on Inauguration and Orientation of Student Initiative in Palliative by Mr. Praveen. M. G., State Palliative Consultant Trainer, held on 2 December 2021 at Seminar Hall.
Student Initiative in Palliative (SIP) at Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, Keezhattur, organised an inauguration of Student Initiative in Palliative and an orientation session for students on December 2 2021. Inauguration was done by Mr. Praveen. M. G., State Palliative Consultant Trainer, who also gave an orientation session on the same. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Ashida. A.P., Assistant Professor of Commerce and Coordinator, SIP. In the event, a Dr. Babu P.K, Principal, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, delivered the principal’s address. In his talk, he mentioned the relevance of student initiatives in palliative care in the college. Mr. Praveen. M. G., during his speech, emphasized on the need for palliative care in our society and the responsibilities of everyone. The students were made aware of the life of human beings when they get bedridden and the difficulties of those suffering from chronic diseases. He explained to the students the need for this kind of service and their responsibility in the community in a very simple and impressive way. Students who have done palliative care work at the school level were also commended and given appreciation for their services during such young age. He also shared his experience of services and mentioned the importance of the mental and emotional support to be given to such patients. He was trying to insist on the message of help and care for the sick and chronically ill people in the community. The session came to an end at 11.30 am with an official vote of thanks by the coordinator.
