The Department of English and Project Quality Cell, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, jointly organized a session on the processes and procedures involved in carrying out a UG project, for III Sem BA Functional English students, on 11 Nov 2021. The two and a half hour-long session was titled, ‘UG English Project: A Route Map’, and was handled by Ms. Aswathi. M. P, Assistant Professor of English, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri. The session commenced at 10. 30 am in Lecture Hall 1, with a welcome address by Ms. Saritha. K, Head, Department on English.
Ms. Aswathi in the session, provided the students a complete and comprehensive overview on how to carry out a UG project. She asked the students to scan journals and magazines to get ideas on topic selection and asked them to maintain a research diary. She pointed out some areas such as, applying literary theories, narrative strategies, characters, background, themes etc. which can be chosen as topics. Then she walked the students through the steps and processes involved in carrying out a project. She also familiarised them with the layout and rules in presenting a research paper. She introduced a few useful websites to the students.
The session ended at 1 pm with a vote of thanks by Muhammed Sulthan, Coordinator, English Association of II BA Fun. English.
