The Department of Management Studies, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organised a workshop titled “Step into the World of Investing: Stocks and Derivatives” on 24 July 2026 at the Seminar Hall as part of the Open-Ended Module on Financial Derivatives. The workshop was led by Dr Sanesh C., Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, Sri Vyasa NSS College, Wadakkanchery, Thrissur, and a SEBI SMARTS Trainer. The programme began with a welcome address by the Head, Department of Management Studies Dr. Shibla Sherin. P, presidential address by the Principal, Dr. Kamaludheen K. T, felicitation by the Vice-Principal Dr. Saritha. K, and the introduction of the resource person by Dr. P.Kalpana. During the technical session, the resource person explained the fundamentals of stock markets, investment strategies, financial derivatives, futures, options, hedging, speculation, and risk management using practical examples and current market trends.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Trading Club co-ordinator, Mr. Anas, marking the successful completion of the workshop. Overall, the session achieved its objective of equipping students with practical knowledge of investing and encouraging them to explore career opportunities in finance and capital markets.
