Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, Perinthalmanna, organized an orientation seminar on SAAC (State Assessment and Accreditation) on 29 March 2021. The presentation focused on the accreditation procedure of SAAC, different criterion aspects and the role of the Kerala Higher Education Department in enriching Higher Education in Kerala.

20 participants, consisting of principals, vice-principals, IQAC Coordinators and faculties from Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, Al Shifa College of Nursing, Al Shifa College of Paramedical Sciences and Al Shifa College of Arts and Science functioning under Shifa Medicare Trust, attended the session. The session was handled by Dr.Shefeeque.V, Research Officer and SAAC Coordinator, Kerala Higher Education Department. The presentation focused on the factors that are to be considered while moving to the SAAC accreditation and the different aspects to be pondered of while moving to SAAC accreditation. The presenter pointed out and explained in detail the various criterion aspects of SAAC accreditation and its key indicators. The presenter emphasised that the SAAC/NAAC accreditation will be mandatory for all Higher Educational Institutions in the coming years and will help the Higher Educational Institutions to enhance their academic quality and efficiency.
Mr.Rohith.R, IQAC Coordinator and Head, Department of commerce welcomed the participants, and Principal Dr. P K Babu, in the Principal’s address, opined that the assessment and accreditation would be helpful for every institution to avail grants and support from Government and various Higher Educational Agencies. Saritha. K Head, Department of English, proposed the vote of thanks. Sabina, Assistant Professor, Department of English coordinated the programme. The programme started at 2pm in the College Seminar Hall, in the presence of Chief Executive, Shifa Medicare Trust, Pilakkal Hamza. The programme wound up at 4 pm after an interactive session between the speaker and the participants.
