Faculty Development Centre, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, Perinthalmanna, organized a web Presentation on ‘The Flipped Classroom’ on 28 September 20. The webinar was aimed at introducing the fundamentals of the concept of Flipped Learning. The online session attracted massive participation from alll across the world, with the group inlcuding faculty members and Research Scholars. The two hour session was handled by the Dr.Babu P K (Principal, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science). The session helped lay foundation for taking up the Flipped Learning strategies in the Higher Education institutions. It dealt with nature, causes, rationale and challenges of the Flipped Classroom. Post-Covid 19, the educational institutions have shifted to teaching online and in the context of emerging new normal, it is relatively easy for the Higher Educational Institutions as well as faculty to transition to flipped learning/teaching mode. It is a more dynamic, personalized, active learming strategy which yields better results and with effective involvement from students, Dr. Babu stated. Mrs.Saritha, Head, Dept of English, welcomed the participants and Dr.Shamal, IQAC coordinator and Head of Commerce at the College, proposed the vote of thanks.
