The Publication Wing and the Department of English jointly Call for Poems!- The Republic of Hope, An E- Book of Poetry by students of High School and Higher Secondary schools in Kerala, Last date: 1 October 21

Poetry makes a lot happen. In terms of perspectivisation, empathy, inclusiveness, poem writers lift themselves or are lifted themselves to a different mindspace altogether. The tone, feel, texture of verses reflect often what communities require to belong to itself and to one another. Dreaming the other into existence and streaming emotions to hitherto unflowed cracks and tracks, poetry reifies bright burning tigers and ice-cream emperors, many ways of looking at black birds and political wastelands. This is why the world needs to nourish poetry, to scaffold budding poets so that a continent of alternative consciousness may be made possible.

With a view to encourage the young writers of poetry who are talented, ambitious and passionate, Dept. of English at Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, Perinthalmanna, is bringing out an E-book of poetry in English by High School and Higher Secondary students of Kerala, titled, ‘The Republic of Hope’. The book means to envigour the young to express voices of hope and optimism, as we emerge from the Pandemic gloom.
